On September 5, the 20th Games of Jiangsu Province drew to a successful close in Taizhou. Prof. LU Weidong, Vice President of NanjingTech, was invited to attend the closing ceremony on behalf of NanjingTech.

In this year’s provincial games, 18 sports teams, 25 coaches, and 233 athletes from NanjingTech participated in 21 major events and 137 minor events. Despite the difficulties of COVID-19, the intense heat, and the shortage of staff, all the athletes fully carried forward the mission of striving for NanjingTech and won 27 gold medals, 34 silver medals, and 14 bronze medals, and the team score of 1207 points ranked third in the undergraduate group of colleges and universities, among which the number of gold medals and medals was the best in history. Moreover, the organizing committee awarded the Excellent Organization Award (formerly President Cup), the First Prize for Outstanding Contribution, the Sports Delegation Award, and the Best Competition Area. The Games have left a fruitful legacy, with the success of the competition promoting spiritual civilization.

The Sports College will make further efforts to promote the high-quality development of sports so as to make greater contributions to developing an education system that will foster a new generation of young people who have all-round moral, intellectual, physical, and aesthetical grounding with a hard-working spirit.
