Practical Education

Nanjing Tech University promotes the Ten Thousand Talents Program for the University Students’ Innovative Practices, to create dream works for the students, and has been selected as the first-batch Innovation Center for China-U.S. Youth Exchange by the Ministry of Education, the science education base in Jiangsu Province, and the first-batch provincial Education Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Practice. Transferring academic achievements into tangible works is encouraged here and students are supported to carry out research learning, and innovation and entrepreneurship activities. A complete system of innovation and entrepreneurship training programs for college students at four levels, (namely: national - provincial - university - college), has been set up and provides project platforms, financial support, teachers’ guidance, and modern teaching conditions for the cultivation of college students’ innovative spirit and practical ability. Therefore, every university student may participate in at least one innovation and entrepreneurship training project on campus. In addition, an “Open Fund for University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Practice” has been set up to encourage teachers to make scientific research projects and patent achievements accessible to undergraduates, and to guide students to carry out scientific research and innovation training. Thanks to all these efforts, since 2014, a total of 6298 innovation and entrepreneurship training projects have been established for undergraduates, including 605 national projects and 1422 provincial projects, and 5 projects have been selected for the national achievement display. With more than 30,000 students participating, more than 600 papers published, and more than 300 patents applied for, the goal of “all projects have achievements and all students have gains” has been achieved.
