On the evening of December 28th, NanjingTech held the 2024 New Year Concert in the Boya Hall of Jiangpu Campus. The students` art troupe, folk orchestra, choir, and symphony wind orchestra jointly presented a grand musical feast. Representatives of teachers and students enjoyed the performance on site, and more than 30,000 teachers, students, and alumni at home and abroad watched the performance through the online live broadcast platform.
The New Year Concert kicked off with the classic orchestral performance Spring Festival Overture. And the folk music ensemble Hongyan incorporated the elements of Mongolian folk songs and was full of the deep feelings of the nomadic people. Besides, the ethnic orchestral performance Thinking along the Yan River enthusiastically eulogized the immortal Yan`an spirit with a vibrant rhythm. When performing the tracks Invitation to Wine and I Love You China, the students`choir showed the audience free and bold feelings as well as the deep and passionate love for the motherland with beautiful multi-part harmonies. What`s more, the piano solos Liuyang River and Pihuang brought an auditory feast to the audience with exquisiteskills. Moreover, singing performancs Hometown Clouds and City of Stars won bursts of applause thanks to the singers`beautiful voices.And the show China in the Lights expressed Chinese people`s best wishes for the motherland and their expectations for the future.
In the second half of the New Year Concert, the students` symphony wind orchestra presented the audience with a powerful wind ensemble. The shows Mozart K525 Serenade and Latin Suite were cheerful, smooth and highly ornamental. By virtue of the characteristics of various musical instruments, Concerto of Love demonstrated love and tenderness to the audience.The performance Mogao Grottoes: A Thousand-Year Prayer interpreted the vastness and mystery of Mogao Grottoes` thousand-year civilization with the help of orchestral instruments. And the classic Chinese folk songs were played on western instrumentsd in Jasmine Fragrance, which contained a strong charm of the waterside villages of Southern Yangtze. The concert ended successfully with the encore performance of Cancan by the symphony wind orchestra.
In recent years, NanjingTech has insisted on giving equal attention to the five aspects of education, carefully created and perfectly interpreted various cultural and artistic works, and strived to improve teachers and students`understanding of Virtue.
