The 2022-2023 first Nanjing Universities Basketball Association ended successfully on the afternoon of May 21 at the Xingjian Gymnasium on the Jiangpu Campus of our school. Our men’s basketball team defeated Nanjing University with a score of 2:0 in both home and away games, winning the championship. As a result, the logo of Nanjing Tech University will be the first to be permanently engraved on the metal nameplate on the bottom of the trophy. In addition, Nanjing Tech won the Excellent Organization Award, coach Lu Hongkai was awarded the Best Coach, and player No. 24 Shao Yingdi was awarded the Finals Most Valuable Player (FMVP).
In the first round of the finals on the 20th, NanjingTech defeated that of Nanjing University by 73:61 in an away game, taking the lead. On the 21st, returning to the home court, head coach Lu Hongkai adjusted the tactics in a timely manner based on the situation on the field. Meanwhile, the players relaxed their minds, dared to play, gave full play to their technical skills, and kept leading the score. With the tsunami of cheers from the home crowd, our team won the first NUBA championship with 82:70.
At the awards ceremony, the guests presented awards to the NUBA champion and runner-up teams, groups and individuals respectively.
The 2022-2023 First Nanjing Universities Basketball Association was guided by Jiangsu Provincial Bureau of Sports and Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, and co-sponsored by Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Sports and Jiangsu Provincial Student Sports Association. It was the first annual university basketball association for all colleges and universities in Nanjing with professional standards. 295 players from 20 colleges and universities in Nanjing presented 72 wonderful basketball games during the 65-day competition.
