On the afternoon of September 8, NanjingTech held the 38th Teachers` Day Celebration Meeting and New Semester Work Conference in Boya Hall.
At the conference, the exemplary individuals and groups who have been working in higher education for three decades and serving NanjingTech for three decades, as well as those who have made excellent achievements in talent cultivation, scientific research, discipline construction, and party building over the past year, were honored. NanjingTech authorities awarded medals and honorary certificates to the winning groups and teachers. Under the leadership of Prof. FENG Xin from the School of Chemical Engineering, the representatives of new teachers swore an oath to carry out their duties faithfully.
Prof. JIANG Juncheng, President of Nanjing Tech University, reviewed the work in the first half of 2022 and set forth explicit requirements for the new semester. Prof. JIANG pointed out that in order to achieve great success, the most important thing is to run our own affairs well. We should uphold the leadership of the Communist Party of China, cultivate the talents with innovative and entrepreneurial abilities and interdisciplinary and integrating abilities, and promote international cooperation and high-quality development. In the process of comprehensively promoting the reform and developing higher education in NanjingTech, we need to improve campus governance, and strengthen basic research and strategic scientific and technological capabilities with top standards, concrete actions, and endless energy.
Prof. RUI Hongyan, Secretary of the CPC University Committee, made the following three points with the regard to the work in the second half of 2022. He pointed out that we should adhere to the socialist orientation in running schools, and teachers should bear in mind their mission of cultivating talent for the Party and the State; we should align our thinking, and work collectively. With determination, endurance, and the courage to take on tough challenges, we could promote the high-quality development of NanjingTech.
Prof. WU Shenghong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, stressed that all teachers should always cling to the underlying values of the new era, abide by the Party’s education policy, and foster virtue through education. We should focus on cultivating contemporary talents who are responsible for national rejuvenation and strive to promote the development of NanjingTech.
