● Overview
The School of Mechanical and Power Engineering was developed by the Department of Chemical Machinery, established in 1958 by the Nanjing Institute of Technology, the predecessor of Nanjing Tech University. Currently, we provide one first-level discipline Ph.D. program in Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics; one post-doctoral research mobile station in Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics; two first-level discipline master programs: Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics, and Mechanical Engineering; five undergraduate programs: process equipment and control engineering, mechanical engineering and automation, vehicle engineering, new energy science and engineering, and welding technology and engineering. Engineering science disciplines have entered the ESI ranking 0.24%，which is mainly supported by Power Engineering and Engineering Thermal Physics, Mechanical Engineering
We have the National Heat Tube Technology Promotion Center, Key Laboratory of Process Reinforcement and New Energy Equipment Technology in Jiangsu Province, Key Laboratory of Digital Manufacturing and Control Technology for Industrial Equipment in Jiangsu Province, Process Industry Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Technology and Equipment Engineering Laboratory in Jiangsu Province, Sinopec Nanjing Equipment Failure Analysis and Prevention Research Center, Sinopec Engineering Risk Analysis Technology Research Center and other research bases.
We attach great importance to scientific research and discipline construction, adhering to the mutual promotion and common development of scientific research and personnel training. Also, we have achieved fruitful scientific and technological achievements in the fields of structural integrity of pressurized equipment, industrial energy conservation and new energy equipment technology, and digital manufacturing technology of advanced equipment. We maintain long-term cooperative relations with Sinopec, Shagang Group, Nangang Group and other large enterprises, making remarkable results in industry-university-research cooperation. Our graduates are in short supply and perform actively in chemical, petrochemical, energy, environment, refrigeration, military industry and other fields of enterprises and higher education institutes, making a significant contribution to national education, science and economic construction.
