School of Marxisms


Overview

 

The School of Marxism, previously called The School of Political Education, was founded in August 2010 and renamed in May 2015.

 

Research Areas/Fields

The school had formed obvious characteristics and strong advantages in three research disciplines: the basic principles of Marxism, research on sinicization of Marxism, and ideological and political education, and two secondary master programs of basic principles of Marxism and ideological and political education were approved to be set in the school. In 2012, the school became the first batch of demonstration units for the construction of ideological and political theory courses in Jiangsu province. In 2020, it was awarded the demonstration project for education reform and innovation of ideological and political Course in Jiangsu province. The school first-level discipline master's degree authorization point of Marxist theory was approved  in 2020.


Eminent Professors

The school has 116 faculty staff, including 14 senior vocational professors, 60 associate professors, 45 doctoral degrees, and 61 master's degrees. Their main responsibilities are teaching tasks such as ideological and political theory courses for undergraduate and graduate students of the whole school, meanwhile they are also the main front for the construction of Marxist theoretical disciplines. The school has undertaken and participated in many projects of the National Social Science Foundation, the Ministry of Education and provincial-level projects.


Departments & Institutions

The school consists of nine teaching and research units, including the Teaching and Research Department of basic principles of Marxism, the Teaching and Research Department of Modern and Contemporary Chinese History, the Teaching and Research Department of Mao Zedong Thought and Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, the Teaching and Research Department of Ideology and Ethics and rule of Law, the Teaching and Research Department of Humanistic Quality, the Teaching and Research Department of "Four Histories", the Teaching and Research Department of Situation and Policy, the Teaching and Research Department of Ideological and Political Theory for Graduate Students, and the Teaching and Research Center for Ideological and Political Theory of Ideological and Political Science.


Education Programs

The whole school now has two secondary discipline master's programs for the basic principles of Marxism and ideological and political education, and more than 150 graduates in 12th sessions were trained from it since the first admission in autumn 2007, they mainly working in institutions of higher learning, party and government organs, financial institutions, large and medium-sized companies and enterprises, etc.
