The 2022 National Youth Women’s Softball Tournament was held in Xingyi, Guizhou, from August 25 to September 3. Six teams from Jiangsu, Shanghai, Beijing, Sichuan, Shaanxi, and Gansu participated in the tournament, which adopted a single round-robin system.

After five days of fierce competition, the Jiangsu women’s softball team of Nanjing Tech University ranked second in the group matches with four wins and one defeat to secure their positions in the final. On the afternoon of September 2, the Jiangsu women’s softball team of Nanjing Tech University again played against the Shanghai team, which was the team with the most points in the six groups. Softball players from the Jiangsu team chose to attack first and lifted the Jiangsu team to a 5-0 lead in the opening inning, demonstrating a spirit to prevail. However, the young players were so nervous that they made a string of errors, leading the Shanghai team to tie. The game was really a nail-biter. In the last attack of the seventh set, the young players carried forward the spirit of dedication, hard work, perseverance, and synergy of the Jiangsu women’s softball team of Nanjing Tech University, scoring 3 points to 10:7 ahead of the Shanghai team temporarily. At the just moment, although the Jiangsu team was under great pressure, they managed to hold the last game. Finally, the Jiangsu team defeated the Shanghai team 10-8 to claim the championship of the 2022 National Youth Women’s Softball Tournament.
